Fereday x Aida Shoreditch
Stitch by Stitch — Our Weekend at AIDA Shoreditch
Earlier this month, we headed up to AIDA Shoreditch with a rail of reworked army totes, hand-patched jackets, and a suitcase full of needles and indigo thread. What started as a one-day Sashiko workshop turned into something much bigger: a chance to share space, stitch slowly, and connect with a community that values care over speed.
We hosted a sold-out Introduction to Sashiko workshop in AIDA’s beautiful upstairs space — a few quiet hours of meditative hand-stitching, visible mending, and conversation over coffee. For some, it was the first time threading a needle in years; for others, a continuation of their mending practice. Everyone left with a stitched piece of their own and a new appreciation for the beauty in wear and repair.
Fereday pop-up featured a small run of one-of-a-kind jackets, handmade garments, and our latest batch of reworked vintage army totes — each one repaired and customised with indigo-dyed cotton, sashiko stitching, and care.
And we’re so excited to share that Fereday is now part of AIDA’s permanent collection. You can now find a rail of our pieces — original handmade clothing, reworked utility bags, and slow-stitched garments — in store at AIDA Shoreditch.
This weekend was more than a pop-up — it was a celebration of doing things differently. A reminder that nothing is ever finished. That the things we make and wear are allowed to change with us.
Thank you to everyone who came, stitched, shopped, or simply stopped to say hello.
And a huge thank you to AIDA for believing in the power of slow fashion and giving our work a home in your space.
